Continuous Open Bidding (COB) is an informal recruitment process that Panhellenic sororities use to recruit new members outside of the designated Spring Formal Recruitment period. This is used to permit chapters who have available membership spots to reach total. Chapters may fall under total for a variety of reasons, including large groups of graduating seniors, members abroad for a full year, or leaves of absence.
