KAPPA KAPPA GAMMA

About Kappa Kappa Gamma

Kappa Kappa Gamma is a women’s organization thriving on tradition, leadership, academics, and friendship. Philanthropy is one of the most important aspects of being a USC Kappa. Kappa Kappa Gamma holds many philanthropic and community service events throughout the year. Today, there are approximately 140 Kappa Kappa Gamma chapters throughout the United States and Canada, with over 250,000 members. The chapter at the University of Southern California is called the Delta Tau Chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma. It was founded November 7, 1947 and celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2007. Delta Tau's total number of active members and new members is approximately 240. Kappas pride themselves on being able to do it all. Even with academics, work and sorority involvement, Kappas are still able to participate in various campus activities, such as academic honors clubs, NCAA and club sports teams and countless volunteer organizations. Kappas are always keeping busy on USC's campus! Kappas are leaders of countless clubs and organizations, such as: Joint Education Program, Political Student Assembly, Gamma Sigma Alpha, National Society of Collegiate Scholars, ROTC, Undergraduate Student Government, and many, many more. They also have a lot of Kappa athletes! Kappa Trojans can be found on several sports teams, including: USC Song Girls, Trojan Dance Force, sand volleyball, Spirit Leaders, tennis, lacrosse, track and field, soccer, and water polo. With fellow sorority sisters involved in many of these activities, new members are highly encouraged to get involved and most find this a huge advantage to joining a sorority.

Philanthropy

Kappa Kappa Gamma holds many philanthropic and community service events throughout the year. Some of their past events include “Kappa Kickball,” an exciting Kickball tournament, and a “Kappa + Nachos” night to fundraise for Kappa’s many charities. Not only does Kappa Kappa Gamma take the opportunity to contribute to their chapter’s philanthropies but also to the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation, Reading IS Fundamental and to many other philanthropic events in the Greek and local community. The mission is to encourage and motivate young children to read. Through their partnership, KKG helps to make reading a fun and beneficial part of everyday life for children who have few to no books at home and little exposure to libraries. Kappa hosts events throughout the year like Kappa Kickball to raise money for this foundation.
