About Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Alpha Theta is the first Greek-letter fraternity among women and was founded in 1870 by four incredible women. The Omicron chapter here at USC was founded in 1887 and was the 13th chapter of Theta, and first sorority at USC! Theta’s symbol is the kite, their colors are black and gold, and their flower is the black and gold Pansy. Theta’s mission is to nurture each girl into strong women throughout college and alumna experience and to offer social, intellectual and moral growth.
Philanthropy
Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to be national supporters of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). CASA is an organization that provides mentors for abused, abandoned and neglected children within the foster case system. Our philanthropy CASA is extremely important to each and every member in Theta, and we strive to raise money for CASA through our fundraisers such as Kat at Bat every Spring! On campus, Theta’s are involved in many clubs, extracurriculars and teams. Theta’s belong to academic and honors societies, community service organizations, media and arts organizations, pre-med organizations, leadership organizations, and sports teams. Kappa Alpha Theta is proud to represent girls with such diverse interests on and off campus!
