| Parent's Guide to Greek Life |
Dear Parents,
On behalf of the Intersorority and Interfraternity Parents' Councils, we enthusiastically invite you to learn about the USC greek community and encourage you to explore the wonderful unique options that greek membership offers.
Sororities and fraternities at USC offer so much to enhance and augment the educational and college experience. Besides the social benefits, the greek system promotes leadership, scholarship, and community service. Many of the members of the greek community are involved in student government, sports, and charitable organizations on campus.
The all-greek grade point average has been consistently higher than the all-university average, which is primarily due to fraternities and sororities' emphasis on academics. Each sorority and fraternity also has a faculty academic advisor.
Sororities and fraternities also have many parent events in which you can participate with your student. They have mother/daughter, father/daughter, mother/son, father/son events that are always extremely well-attended by both local and out-of-state parents. Many of the sororities and fraternities also have holiday events, picnics, and various outings that encourage family interaction.
By joining the USC greek community, your student will definitely acquire vital life lessons that will cultivate and nurture the entire college experience.
We welcome you to USC and encourage you to investigate our strong, vibrant, and progressive greek community!
Welcome and Fight On!
