Over the weekend of April 2-5, 2009, 11 members of USC’s Panhellenic Council traveled to San Francisco to attend the Western Regional Greek Association Annual Leadership Conference. Six members of the Greek Interfraternity Council were also in attendance.
Board members attended workshops and seminars with members other Greek systems from the Western Region. Beth Saul, USC’s Greek Advisor and director of parent programs and former recipient of Outstanding Advisor Award , also attended and led a very productive and empowering workshop titled “Encouraging the Heart”. The purpose of the conference was to refine leadership skills, share ideas and feedback with other Greek Systems, and receive advice and guidance from Greek alumni and advisors on issues that consistently face the Greek Community. The three day conference concluded with an awards banquet and dinner. This year Panhellenic Council received 5 prestigious awards due to the hard work of the 2008 Panhellenic Executive Board, more awards than any other board before. These awards included Multicultural Initiatives, Scholarship Programming, Campus Involvement, Community Involvement, and Marketing and Media. This recognition inspires the 2009 Executive Board which has made it their priority to serve the campus and Greek community above and beyond the incredible standard that has been set.
